Contacts: notes field

in my view, the notes filesd disp;lays on the second line (in blue) whether I
have notes included in my fields of the view or not. How do I get rid of the
auto showing of the notes field AND only display it on the same line as the
other fields?

You have turned on the preview function. Use the Advanced Toolbar and
you'll find that the 3rd button to the right of the Current View window is
on. If you have 2003 it's obvious as it will be orange.
