I recently upgraded from Office 2000 to 2003.  I set up Office 2003 for my
another user and copy/ pasted the contact list (pst) from my user pst. into
that user's outlook directory (the one where Outlook installed the default
'OUTLOOK.pst' file).   All of the emails and contacts open up fine when I
click on 'Mail' or 'Contacts' in the left pane, but when I try to open the
contact list from a 'new mail' or 'Foward', I get an error box stating,
"The address list could not be displayed.  The Contacts folder
associated with   this address list could not be opened; it may have been
moved or deleted, or you do not have permission."

Does anybody have a solution to get this address list to woek in another user?

NEVER overwrite a PST file. You will corrupt your profile every time.
How corrupt your is remains to be seen. If you're lucky, all you'll need to
reset is your Outlook Address Book. Start there. Enable your Contacts Folder
as an email address book in its properties. Remove the now invalid reference
to a Contacts Folder here: Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing
directories or address books > Outlook Address Book > Change.
If you have more problems, then you'll need to create a new profile and use
the proper procedure in the Help File for migrating PST data, ensuring that
you never just copy your old PST file into the default directory. Keep it
elsewhere.

Thanks Russ.
I guess I've been lucky in the past because I have overwritten pst files for
many years without ever a problem.  I will begin this remedy now and see if
it will work.
Thanks!

Russ,
That got rid of the invalid lists.  Now I just need to figure out how to get
'MY' contact names into the other user's address book.

Thanks

Other user's?
You'll need to clarify what you mean.
