View Options for Contacts with Multiple Categories

Hello all,

I use multiple categories for my Outlook clients, and am familiar with
filtering the contacts folder view to have Outlook only present the
contact items that have certain categories assigned.  When I group by
category, every used combination of the categories becomes it's own
grouping.  Is there a way to have one group for each category, and if
a contact has more then one category assigned, for that contact to
appear in multiple groups?

It does work that way.  If a Contact is in 2 Categories, it will appear
twice in By Category View - under the heading for both Categories.

So I'm not going crazy.  I thought it used to be that way, but I
assure you it's not now.  Do you know of any way to toggle back and
forth between the two described views?  It's Outlook 2003, BTW.

I think you'll find postings here about resetting views - yours sounds
broken to me.

Or make a new one yourself and see if that works normally.

Just drag Categories header into the Group By Box in Simple List view.

Everyone - turn on your Advanced Toolbars and learn how to use the Field
Chooser and Group by Box!!
