Display size on Detailed Address View

My contacts view (detailed address cards) appear to only display a limited
(250-300) characters of text in the "notes" portion of the contact.  When
you open the card, all the detail is of course there.  Is there a way to
control how many characters will display?  I use Outlook 2003
