The Outlook Address Book shows every Contacts folder in your profile that
you have enabled as an email address book. You are viewing a different
Contacts Folder in the Address Book than the one you happen to be viewing in
Outlook. By definition, however, that Contacts Folder is also there. Examine
your folder hierarchy more carefully.

Thanks for the reply. When you say "Examine your folder hierarchy more
carefully." are you saying that the left hand folder list will show the
hierarchy of all my address books?
How can I consolidate all the contacts into one address book?

I'm saying use Folder List view. How to invoke it depends on your version
which you have failed to provide. You can easily copy the contents of one
Contacts Folder into another.
