We jsut landed a project where the clinet wants to use exchange and OWA to
share 3000+ contacts that is currently located in a PST file on her computer.
How can we get the contacts imported into the OWA public folder?

Thanks!

I think you need to sit down with the client and make sure they need to understand the limitations of what they're proposing -- mainly that a contacts folder in the Public Folders hierarchy cannot be used to select addresses for sending messages. Users can still look up people, there, of course, but it won't be used as an address list.

If you still want to go through with it, set up a mail profile on a machine that has Outlook installed to log into a mailbox that has Write access on the public folder. Get a copy of the PST file and open it with the File | Open | Outlook Data File command, then copy the items from the PST folder into the public folder.

Thanks for the fast reply. If you don't mind could I pick your brain for one
more question. What would be the best way for five remote users to share
contacts using xp home?

I don't understand the question. Windows XP Home has no features in it for sharing contacts. Since you have Exchange, why would you ask about XP Home?

I am sorry. I was to brief like you could read my mind. What I mean is that
all the users have XP Home on ther computers and I noticed that Outlook it
displays differnt on XP Home than it does on XP Pro. In XP Home, Outllok does
not display "Share My Contacts" but in Pro it does. So, going forward, my
question is what is the best practice for sharing contacts lists with
exchange server?

Thank you.

Outlook on XP Home and XP Pro is identical.  I've got that setup.  If you
see a difference, it could be your accounts are set up differently.  For
example, the Pro system could have its delivery location on the Exchange
server while the Home system's delivery location is a PST.

The most likely explanation is that those users don't have an Exchange account in their Outlook mail profile. Maybe they're using POP instead? They won't be able to share contacts unless they have an Exchange account in their mail profiles.
