how do I ungray the show this folder as an email address book under contacts
so I can put a check mark in the box for it to show up in my contacts list?

Typically that means you need to add the Outlook Address Book service to
your current profile. If you're using OL2003 (or OL2002) go to Tools menu >
Email accounts > Add directories or address books > Click Next and add the
Outlook Address Book.
