Neither could anyone else. Information that might give us a chance:
1. The "previous iteration"
2. The current "iteration."
3. What you mean by "Contacts List"
4. The view to which you are referring

The current version is Outlook 2003. It is for contacts, address cards.
Since I've been working with this since 1998, obviously we started out in an
older version. We merged with two other entities in 2004 and have had a lot
of changes in how things are set up. I did print a version of our old shared
contacts just before the merger and it shows the name & company in the shaded
area. We are finally reinstituting our use of a shared contacts file in our
merged company and we'd like to have the information as before if possible.
Someone on our tech services staff suggested that perhaps the option was
eliminated in the 2003 Outlook. I've been through all the related help
information and can't find anything so just wondered if anyone else is or was
using that feature. Thanks for responding.

Since that view sorts by the File As... field, you would need to set your
File As... field to show the name and company.
Tools > Options > Preferences > Contact Options....
Note, the changes will apply only to new Contacts not existing ones.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
