when I compose a letter and start the type the person's email address,
outlook won't find the complete address for me. Can anyone help me fix this?

State your Outlook version.
State whether you enabled autocompletion ("Suggest Names...")
State whether you have sent enough messages to have populated your
autocompletion cache.

Your version is far outdated and does not have an autocomplete feature.
Versions of Outlook earlier than Outlook 2002 have no autocompletion
feature. They have a feature called auto-resolution. If you enter part of a
name or a nickname then tab out of the field (or hit Alt-K [Check Names]),
Outlook will attempt to resolve the name against your address book. If it
can't it'll red underline it and you can right click on the name to manually
resolve it. Outlook will save the resolution for future use.

If it is called Auto Resolution, whatever...i liked the feature also!  Bring
it back.

You are quite mistaken. Both autoresolution and autocompletion exist in
Outlook 2002 and all subsequent versions. Perhaps you had a different
question. Just what is your question?

You must have at least Outlook 2002.  What version are you running?

Since Outlook 2000 and Outlook Express are completely unrelated
applications, your conclusion that the behavior of one should reflect the
behavior of the other is erroneous.

I liked Outlook 2000 better than Outlook 2003, and I loved the feature that
you are talking about.  They are calling it Auto Resolution, i say call it
what you want but bring it back!
