Is there a limit to how big a distribution list can be?

I have made 3 DLs that are very big: 500, 800 and 1200 addresses. I will be
using AOL through Outlook. I am on AOL's white list. Does this also work
through Outlook?

Your question is for AOL. Size of DL's is controlled by the mail server, not
by Outlook. DL's of this size are generally a very poor idea. I would expect
almost every server to reject messages to that many recipients, and DL's of
that size are very difficult to maintain.
