I can't see an import/export option under the File dropdown menu in outlook.
This is where I uaually export my contacts for backup. I can't seem to do
that anymore. Please advise.
Things to check:
1. Make sure you are looking in the Contacts Folder, not the address book
view.
2. Ensure Importers and Exporters are installed.
3. Reset your Toolbar.
Exporting is a very poor choice for "backing up" Contacts. Just copy your
Outlook data file.

How do you ensure that importers and exporters are installed and reset toolbar?

For the latter, see if you can customize the toolbar by adding those
commands to the File menu. If they are not available, then reset the entire
toolbar. To reset the toolbar back to its default configuration (and clear
any modifications that have been made), try renaming the file named
"Outcmd.dat" with Outlook closed, the restart Outlook.
Importers and Exporters are installed from the Office CD. You'll find them
under Outlook.
