Can anyone give me the specific procedure for importing contacts from gmail?

Open the Import Wizard and examine at the list of file types that Outlook
can import. How you create one of those files is a question for gmail, not
us.

I've gone through this myself. I am capable of reading, but only in English
and French, not tech. Gmail says I should convert the contact list to Excel
for importation to Outlook. Outlook gives me this really useful piece of
goobledygook: The Microsoft Excel file "C:\Documents and
Settings\User\Desktop]gmail-to-outlook(4).xls" has no named ranges. Use
Microsoft Excel to name the range of data you want to import.

I found name the range in Excel. I tried to get help through Excel. Nothing
gives a straight-English step-by-step explanation of what "naming the range"
means, and how to go about effecting the required changes.
