In Word 2003, I could insert an adress from my Outlook Contacts into a Word
document. On tHe "Insert Address" tool bar button, there was a drop-down
history  of previously used contacts. This was very handy for letters.I can't
find the "Insert Address" menu item or a toolbar button in Word 2007. Thanks.

It's extremely difficult to find. You must customize the Quick Access
Toolbar. You will not find the option in any of the expected places. You'll
only find it by looking under All commands.
