I am using Outlook 2003.  In Contacts, I am no longer able to pull up a
contact name simply by typing the first letter or two. I now have to
scroll through a particular alphabet group to find the name. How do I
re-enable the function to find a contact by the first letter? Thank you.

What view are you displaying in the Contacts folder when you try this?

In View | Arrange By | Current View | Customize Current View | Sort, what field are the entries sorted by?

Sue, I switched around between views and went back to the address cards
view and now the initial letter function works. I'm presently in
address cards view with contacts sorted by last name, first.

Many versions lose this function if you use the "Outlook Today" view of your
Personal Folders. Turn it off.
