In View | Arrange By | Current View | Customize Current View | Sort, what field are the entries sorted by?

Sue, I switched around between views and went back to the address cards
view and now the initial letter function works. I'm presently in
address cards view with contacts sorted by last name, first.

Many versions lose this function if you use the "Outlook Today" view of your
Personal Folders. Turn it off.
