I am importing a list of contacts from Excel into Outlook 2003. I want to
import to the "Nickname" field, but when I get to the "Map Custom Fields"
window, it isn't listed. How do you add fields to be available in "Map Custom
Fields"?

You don't. Only the listed fields can be import targets for that dialog. The alternative is to write your own import code or use a third-party tool.

You may find one of our products useful - our mapping list covers more
fields then what is available via the Outlook import wizard

If it wasn't for the 3rd party developers, Outlook would be practically
useless. By itself, it's a horrible excuse for a software application. I am
downloading Importer 1.3 now because Outlook cannot even import from its own
MS Excel spreadsheet into the new Outlook fields I created.
