i can't get it to hide the other addresses of the other people its emailing
aswell. i want it to only show the email address of the people getting the
email in the email to box, at the moment its coming up with everyines email
address, is there a setting that will fix this

Then you aren't doing a mail merge at all.
Tell us what you are doing.
Outlook uses Word for performing mail merge functions such as Form Letters,
mailing labels, envelopes, and fax or email merges. For an overview of these
