Contact Names Replaced by Emails

Hi,

Recently, many of my contact names were replaced by their email
address, creating a number of people with last names "com" or "edu" and
first names along the lines of "sample@sample".  I have no idea what
caused this, or why it has affected only some of my contacts and not
others.  Does anyone have any suggestions for returning my contacts to
their previous state or figuring out why this happened so as to avoid
it in the future?

Thanks,
Anna

No. We could have no idea. You posted no information. At the very least you
should post your Outlook version, information store, and exactly where these
names were "replaced."
