I have tried and tried to import my contact list from Excel so many times and
I am so frustrated.  I have the fields named and can asign each of the fields
to outlook; however, when Outlook goes through the motions of importing...it
thinks and thinks and thinks and thinks...I end up with either over 4000
blank contact pages or over 4000 contact pages with just email addys...and I
only have 89 contacts...I have it set to not accept duplicates...what is the
deal??  Why can I not import my contacts???

You need to create a named range that encompasses the data you want to
import along with the first row which contains your field(column) names. See
Excel Help file for "Named Ranges".

Uncomfortable with Excel "Named Ranges"? Save the worksheet in .CSV format
and import that file into Outlook instead.
