I had to install a new motherboard, processor and memory card, my son saved
my address book. When I open my contacts, all the information is there. When
I open a "New e-mail" and click on "To" to use my select member list i
receive the following message, "The address could not be displayed. The
contacts could not be opened or it may have been deleted or I do not have
permission." AND the select name box is empty. Also i have lists set up for
friends, family and other groups, when i clcik on that in contacts, it opens
and all the names are there. I'm so frustrated i could pull my hair out.
Hopefully someone could guide me in layman's terms. Thank you for taking the
time to read this.

Make sure the "Show this folder as an email address book" box is checked
here: Right click on the Contacts folder, choose Properties and go to the
Outlook Address Book tab

Hi Vince, I did exactly what you recommended and I'm still receiving the same
message. Thank you for taking the time to respond to me.

See if there are extra folders listed here: Tools menu > Email accounts >
View/Change existing address books > Click Next > Highlight Outlook Address
Book > Click Change

Hi Vince,
I did exactly what you told me and all three options are the same and above
those options, it states what you stated with your first answer. i think I'm
going to have to retype my entire address book and hope and pray it works. i
wonder if my outlook is corrupt? Thanks.
