I add a new contact to my list of contacts and then when I try searching for
th contact it does not appear. But the contact is very much there in the list
as I tried locating the contact in the alphabetical order. But the contacts
which were existing when I was using Outlook 2003 don't have this problem.

Give the exact steps needed to reporoduce.  How are you adding them?  How
are you searching for them?

I had the same problem with Outlook Contacts 2007.  When I search for a
particular person, his business card is found.  However, when I look at an
alphabetically sorted list of all people in my Contact list, his name is not
there.

No one has posted any information here.
Exact steps to repro are a requirement.

What Russ is asking for is -- search where? How? For what?

I have a similar problem.

Steps are as follows:

1.  Open Outlook 2007 Beta 2.
2.  Go to "Contacts".  4268 Items are shown.
3.  I type in a popular name, e.g. "Charles", into the "Search Contacts" box
and press enter.
4.  The reply comes back "No matches found for "Charles"", which is clearly
not true.
5.  I tried with a variety of names and places, not of which worked.  It
worked last week.
6.  When I delete the search term, all the 4268 contact items come back
7.  I have to find the contact by scrolling, which takes a long time.

Any ideas?

Does search work in other folders? Have you left Outlook running overnight to ensure that the initial index is completely built? Have you installed WDS 3.0 Beta 2?
