I have been searching for a way to use the phone option in contacts to call
my customers.
I am running XP SP2 and outlook 2003.
I have broadband conection with BT Home Hub it is connected to the phone line.
So how and what do you select to make this software work. just getting this
one thing to work would save me hours per day.

Any help would be fantastic

Outlook uses the Windows dialer and the Windows dialer expects a modem on
the other end.  It has no facility to hand a call off to a voice line.

Richard, me too - there's nothing in Help, nothing I've found online, except
this post.

Anyone know of an Idiot's guide, or any other advice?

I just put in a cheap modem, having finally discovered it doesn't work over
broadband, and made my first succesful call! - but only from Contacts.

So Brian, it doesn't seem true that it expects a modem the other end.

I don't understand Dialing Properties>Edit etc. From UK, I want to prefix
18185 before international, 0845, 0870 and calls to mobiles; otherwise prefix
1899. And my antivirus tries to block every call - till I tell it to allow
all calls to this no.

All advice gratefully received.
