There is a "send plain text only" checkbox on the contact form, but it
appears that there is no equivalent property in the Outlook Object Model, how
can I check or uncheck it programmatically?
Thanks in advance.

You'd have to use CDO or Redemption. I think this sample will help: http://www.cdolive.com/modifyrtfenabledflag.htm

Switch to CW mode, run whatever code you need, then switch back?

I don't have an IMO installation to play with, but perhaps Outlook Spy would turn up something else.
