Can I create a distribution list based on a search criteria?

I know how to create a distribution list by adding names one at a time. What
I want to be able to do is search my contacts for a key word, then create an
email distribution list from the returns.

Can't be done. You'd have to create a separate folder for these contacts,
then select all the members of this folder to add to a DL. A better method
would be to assign a category to all these contacts then use a category
instead of a DL.
