MS Office Forum / Outlook / Contacts / August 2006Can I restore my contacts folder once I deleted it?
I moved some of my contacts from one folder to another so I could delete an extra folder I had. I think I may have created the new folder as a subfolder of the first one because when I deleted the empty folder both folders disappeared. I checked my deleted items folder and the contacts are not there. I'm worried that they may have been permanently deleted because there were so many files in that folder. When you delete any item, including a folder, in Outlook, unless you explicitly instruct Outlook to perform a permanent delete (by holding Shift when clicking or pressing Delete), the item will be moved into the Deleted Items folder of the PST where the original item resided. If you don't see it there, perhaps you stopped and restarted Outlook after you deleted it and you have the option enabled to empty the Deleted Items folder when Outlook closes.
