Hi,

Could someone please help me as this is driving me mad!  How do I stop
outlook 2003 from automatically adding people to my contacts list when I am
replying to an email they sent? I have a special questions email box set up
for people to mail in on and when I reply it keeps adding them to my contacts
list meaning I end up with hundreds of unwanted contacts in my contact folder.

Thanks in advance for you help !

Regards,
Kyle

Outlook does not do that.
Perhaps you are confusing contacts with the autocompletion cache. If so, you
can easily turn off autocompletion.

Is there a way to have it in 2003?

Outlook never did it except in IMO mode. And that's because you were
actually using Outlook Express when you used the address book.
To automatically add the email address of people you respond to to your
Contacts Folder requires code:

http://www.outlookcode.com/d/code/autoaddrecip.htm
http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/addauto.htm
