I cannot enter or edit email address.  I am trying to enter a large amount of
data and I have Outlook Contacts in the Category View to enter them quickly,
but I cannot seem to enter any information in the "email" field.

That's a Table view. Have you enabled in-cell editing?

How do you check if you have in-cell editing enabled?  I can tell you that I
can enter all of the other information into the table.  I enter name, phone
number, mobil etc.  However, I cannot enter email.  Also, I cannot edit
emails that I have already entered in the "new contacts"

While viewing Contacts, right-click in a blank portion of the viewinging
pane and choose "Customize Current View".  Select Other Settings and examine
the box labeled "Allow in-cell editing".

In-cell editing was checked and I can edit all the fields EXCEPT the email
field.  When I try to enter in that field, I get the "bong" error tone.

That makes sense, because the email field is not a simple text field like the others, but a combination of three different properties for each email address. You'll need to open the contact to change the email address.
