all of my contact's have e-mail address or fax numbers but when I try to put
them into a distribution list only the one's with e-mail address's appear to
be a choice.

Maybe that would be because you are expected to email to DLs

I can create DLs containing a mixture of eail addresses and fax numbers with
no trouble. WHen you say the fax numbers don't appear to be a choice, where
are you looking? Do you mean they do not appear in the Address Book? If
not, then I suspect that the numbers have not been resolved. Open your
Contacts and examine one of the items containing a fax number you believe
you should see. Is the number underlined?
