Outlook 7 - msg "Outlook cannot perform your search" Why?

In Outlook 7 under contacsts when I do a search , I get the answer back "
outlook cannot perform your search" . It used t work properly but now the
search dosen't work How do I fix this?

Have you downloaded and installed the latest Windows Desktop Search?

THanks for your help. Desktop search was loaded but not working. I
uninstalled , reinstalled it and after it indexed the files it now works.
