Suddenly my Outlook 2003 Contacts Activities tab has started to respond with
a "Cannot display this view. A Folder with that name already exists".

I have substituted the .pst files that Outlook uses for older, discarded,
files. The problem does not then occur.

Also I have run the command line switch /cleanfinders - no effect.

On the Properties dialog for the contacts folder, change the Activities groups to point at the right folders.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Unfortunately changing the folders has no effect.

Also, if I try to do an advanced search on a contacts folder I get the
message "There are too many find dialogs open. Close tem..." I click the
"yes" button to close the dialogs and then the search produces as message
"Outlook cannot perform your search. Outlook cannot display this view.".

I have re-run the /cleanfinders option.

Tell us more about your configuration, such as what type of data store (Exchange mailbox, .pst file) contains these contacts and what activities groups you have configured.

Sue,

A quick and dirty solution I though would be to upgrade to Outlook 2007. It
worked.

Thanks
