How do you create a snail mail mailing list for a form letter? This will be
used with mail merge. Is there any software that allows you to check off the
people you want to be on the list and then create that specific list with the
information that you want.

I do not want to export the entire contacts.

Thank you.

Start the merge from Outlook, select the recipients in advance and perform
the merge to the selected Contacts.

I get a message that says  operation can not be completed because of dialog
or database engine failure. Please try again later.

Then you should probably provide some actual information:
1. Outlook/Word versions
2. How you have configured your mail services and address services
3. Exact steps you used to get that error.

1. Office pro Ed 2003
2. my mail services are just pop3 .Theaddresses are in my contacts.I did
have business contact manager also installed, but I uninstalled it now since
it may have been causing this?
3. Clicked on new message, clicked in subject line, clicked tools,
letters/mailins-mail merge, chose letters, next, next, to select recipients,
chose Contacts, then I got the error message.
4.I want to make it clear this is for snail mail form letters.

Thank you.

Just think about what you are doing. If this is for snail mail, why would
you open an electronic message window to do the merge? Makes no sense does
it?
Start the merge from your Contacts Folder. Do some basic reading on mail
merges before you just guess at it.

So, I posted this in the wrong section. People make mistakes. Thank you for
your help though! :)

Actually, you posted in exactly the right section. If you want to filter
your Contacts database for a mail merge, it is always best to do so in
Outlook before you start the merge.
