How do you create a snail mail mailing list for a form letter? This will be used with mail merge. Is there any software that allows you to check off the people you want to be on the list and then create that specific list with the information that you want. I do not want to export the entire contacts. Thank you. Start the merge from Outlook, select the recipients in advance and perform the merge to the selected Contacts. Clicked on new message, clicked in subject line, clicked tools, letters/mailins-mail merge, chose letters, next,next, to select recipients, chose Contacts, then I got the error message. 4.I want to make it clear this is for snail mail form letters. If this is for snail mail, why would you open an electronic message window to do the merge? Makes no sense does it? Start the merge from your Contacts Folder. Do some basic reading on mail merges before you just guess at it. If you want to filter your Contacts database for a mail merge, it is always best to do so in Outlook before you start the merge.
