I created 4 or 5 "Contact" folders to see how they work (I am using Outlook
2003). I deleted all but 2 of the contact folders from the "Folder List" in
the left taskbar. However, when I perform a process where it asks me to
choose a contact folder, like to find an email address for a new email or a
mailing list in Mail Merge, the names of the deleted contact folders still
show up. When I click on the deleted folders, Microsoft says that they are
deleted. Is there a way to remove them?
Thanks

Of course. Do so here:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change…

open the address book and look on it's tools, options menu - delete the
extras from that list.

Thanks. Also, the folders weren't removed from my list until after I closed
Outlook and reopened it again.
