How can you change phone number descriptions(home, home2, etc.)

I need to know if it possible to change the phone number descriptions in the
contact portion of Outlook. Change from home, home2, business, business 2,
etc. to something specifically descriptive for my application.

You can't change the names and you can't add new phone fields.
