Business Fax and Contacts - 30 Oct 2003 18:10 GMT
Hi,

In outlook 2002, If I create a contact with an e-mail
address and a business fax, then try to use it to select
it when sending e-mail (by clicking the TO button), the
name appears twice.  One is the e-mail address, and one
is the fax address.  I don't want the fax address to show
up there at all.  Is there a way to only view the name
that will send it to their e-mail addresses and not the
one that will send it to their Fax?

Thank you

The standard behavior for the Outlook Address book is to display all
electronic addresses (both fax and e-mail). That behavior cannot be changed.
The only way to prevent the display of fax numbers is to store them in a
different field or to disguise them (e.g., precede them with an alpha
character) so that Outlook won't recognize them as phone numbers.
