Telkom South Africa has changed the country exit code from 09 to 00 and as a result my telephone numbers stored in Contacts as +27 (XX) XXX XXXX no longer be dialed with MS Outlook 2003 dialer in contacts. How can I alter the exit code I´m not sure what exactly you want to do. If you want to replace some numbers in the phone fields you can try EditContacts http://www.marchert.de/software.html#ec It`s a beta version, so it is recommended to make a backup of your contacts before using it. How can I alter the exit > code If by "country exit code" you mean "international prefix", the answer is you can't change it. Outlook uses the Windows Dialer, which has the international prefixes for each country built in. As you indicate, the international prefix in South Africa was previously 09. The prefix was changed to 00 in May 2002, with a permissive dialing period. This means that, during the permissive period, either 09 or 00 would work. Unfortunately for you, the permissive period ended on Jan 16, 2007. I think you are stuck. The Windows Dialer is still using 09 as the international prefix for South Africa. As far as I know, there is nothing you can do about it until there is a fix issued for the Windows Dialer.
