After I transferred my contact email addresses from XP Professional's 2003
outlook to outlook 2007, outlook 2007 inserted "SMTP" into every one of my
email addresses. For example:
XXXXXX (yyyyyy@hss.caltech.edu SMTP XXXXXX(XXXXXX@hss.caltech.edu))
In order to send an email, I have to delete "SMTP" from the address.
Can I do a mass edit to extract the "SMTP" from my 175 email addresses in my
Contact list? I sure don't wan to have edit them one at a time.

Outlook doesn't do this by itself. One must wonder how you did this
"transfer" and what information store you are using.

You can try to use EditContacts http://www.marchert.de/
software.html#ec to remove "SMTP" form your email addresses.
