I have 1000 contacts in my outlook 2003 contact list.  I need to add more -
Is there a way to do this or is there a better program suited to perfoming
such a task.

I get an error code that states my outlook contact has 1000 contacts and I
cannot add more until I delete some of them.

I currently have 3008 contacts in Outlook 2003. Oops! I had 3008 in Outlook
2003 until last week when I installed Office Premium 2007

Are you using this with an Outlook Live account? If so, no, the limit is
currently 1000 for the live account.

Outlook 2003 can hold 64,000 or more contacts, normally in one folder.
Since you say you can't my crystal ball says you're using Outlook Live with
the Outlook Connector and Hotmail, in which case the 1,000 contact limit is
Hotmail's issue, not Outlook's.

You can certainly get around it, though, by creating a new PST and a contact
folder in that PST, keeping all your contacts there.  Perhaps not ideal for
you, but it's fairly certain Hotmail won't change any time soon.
