I really need some help.
We use the 2002 version and have since 2002.  My boss has been complaining
about his contact all of the sudden not being there anymore.
He advised me today that some of his contacts are listed into different
distribution lists that he has set up in outlook.  He was copying a contact
and pasted it into another distribution list and when he went back the the
original distribution list the contact was no longer available for him.
Sometimes ehen he copies a contact into a folder or someone ele's
distribution list the contact will disappear all together.  Does anyone know
why or what he could be doing to cause this.
I appreciate any help that anyone can give.    Thanks

Your post makes no sense to us. We have no idea what your boss is doing.
Copying and pasting are never involved in the creation of a DL.

The DL already exists.
Let me start over.
My boss set's up a contact record using his outlook
sets up a catagory ie: holiday card
he than sets up another contact and sets a category of Personal Contact.
He now decides that he wants to add the peronal contact into the holiday
card category as well.

nevermind I just figured out my own question I believe.  Instead of him
selected mulitple categories for one contact entry he is dragging or copying
and pasting which is making the contact disappear.

I thank you for listening to this but I guess I just needed to talk it out
sort of speak.

That's what we're here for. He can set a Contact to have as many Categories
as he wants, and then use the Category in lieu of a DL. It's usually a mush
better solution:
