Cannot open outlook2003 contacts when found via search

I have not problem opening contacts in outlook 2003. But when I do a
search and the search pulls up the contact, I cannot open it. I get an
error telling me it cannot open this item. I did a re-install of
outlook and the problem still exists. Can anyone shed some light on
this.

Explain more clearly what you are doing. "Search" can mean anything. We have
no idea what you mean by it.

I think the trouble is with the user's mailbox in Active Directory.
Go to the user's account in Active directory (the owner of the mailbox
who's contacts you're trying to search) - Exchange Advanced tab -
Mailbox Rights... - grant the user who is trying to search Full
mailbox access and Read permissions. I think that should do it.
