i closed outlook, moved the .pst to drive d:, then opened outlook and asked
Outlook to file>open >outlook data file., navigated to the .pst on d:, and
opened it.  then closed the new data file that outlook  created when i
started it and  it couldn't find the one that i had moved. from then on Ol
opened the .pst from d:

to move your Outlook information, you have to move your PST file.

How to move a PST file?
