I have 3 Contact Lists in my Outlook 2003.  One is completely blank and I
want to remove it but don't know how.  One list is titled Contacts in
Personal Folder and then 2 others named just "contacts"  One contact list and
the personal folder contact list contain information and one is blank.  How
do I get them to all merge or delete the blank one? Thanks for any help

You'll have to post more accurately for anyone to help you in a newsgroup.
We could have no idea what you might mean by the term "Contact List." State
clearly what you mean and precisely where you are seeing these "duplicate"
lists. For extra credit, you could even include the steps you used to create
this mess.

When I go into outlook 2003 and I click on my Contacts tab I get a screen
that says My Contacts at the left and below that is Current View.  Directly
under the My Contacts I have 3 items that I can click on - one says Contacts
in Personal Folder. If I click that I get a list of my contacts that I have
input.  Below that I have two more "contacts" listed.  If I click on one of
the contacts it too opens a list of contacts to the right.  The third contact
item if clicked on is blank.  I want to either combine these three lists or
delete two of them and I do not know how to do that.  Sorry for the inacurate
post before I've never done this.  Thanks.

Can't you just move everything into your default Contacts Folder then delete
the other 2?

Mr. Valentine~When you say "can't you just move everything?"  How exactly do
you move them?  I have the same problem, but I have more than 1400 names in
one list and 1200 in the other.  Many of the names are duplicated.  How do
you move them without individually re-entering everything from one list to
the other?  Will duplicate names make a second listing which will then have
to be individually deleted?  Thank you.

Same as with any other program: Edit > Select All > Edit > Move to Folder...
If you think you'll have duplicates, then run a duplicate checker after you
consolidate your folders:

It would be nice to be able to just delete the contacts but that is why I am
on this discussion.  I cannot figure out how to do it.  I can just right
click and delete because when I do on 2 of the lists there is no function to
delete the list only one of the 3 will allow me to right click with the
delete contact option - I'm stuck

Rather hard to help you when you never provided any information on how you
created such a mess, despite having been asked. I've never seen anyone mess
up a profile to the point that they couldn't even delete a Contact. State
more clearly why you can't delete a Contact and how you are trying.

Good grief Russ if I knew how I screwed it up I could probably fix it. Thanks
for all your "KIND" help. I'll look elsewhere

Sorry. Even if you don't know the problem was created, we still need a more
accurate description of what's happening than you've provided. To say you
"can't delete a Contact" doesn't really tell us anything. You need to tell
us exactly what you are doing and what happens when you try. This is a
newsgroup. We can't see what you're doing or read your mind, and you need to
bear that in mind when you post a problem.
