Not at all. You have failed to understand that autocompletion has nothing to
do with your Contacts Folder and the information it contains. It only uses
information from the autocompletion cache, which contains information
derived only from headers of the messages you have sent.

Thanks for the reply. So to get an autocomplete with email and Display
names, I have to specifically send them an email first? And then the next
time I write to them, it should show?

The autocompletion cache is populated only by the messages you have sent.
The format of what appears in that cache is determined entirely by the
sender if you have replied to that message.

In general, yes. You can populate the autocompletion cache with up to 1000
of the "DIsplay As" values from your Contacts, though, so that you can begin
to type that string and have it show up. See this:
