display full email address when sending mail

I want to copy/paste a distribution list but Outlook displays the "file as"
names rather than the email addresses in the "To:" field and I can't seem to
find a way to change that so that the full email addresses appear. Please
tell me there's a way to do this other than the painstaking task of going
into my contact list and changing the file as field for the contacts that
apply to this distribution list.

where are you pasting it to? outlook uses the display name.
