We don't know the exact details of why BCM isn't suitable to work with Exchange.

Thanks for your prompt reply. One more question.
Can BCM be used on a separate outlook profile for the same user if that
profile doesn't use exchange but the default profile does use exchange? If
not, is there any way to use BCM and Exchange separately, but on the same
machine and login?

You can use BCM in another profile on teh same machine as long as that
profile doesn't have an Exchange account configured within it.
