I have Outlook 2003 (v11.8118.8122 SP2)

I switched the default to Last Name, First Name order.  The address cards
now sort alphabetically by last name in the following order:  Smith, John W

When I open a contact, the Full Name now appears as Smith John W (or Last
Middle First).  If I click on the Full Name tab, it accurately has John in
the first field; W. in the middle field and Smith in the last field.  When I
go to print labels, or letters, the name appears as the Full Name:  Smith
John W rather than John W. Smith.

I would appreciate anyone that can share advice on how to correct this.

You'll need to post a clearer description of what "default" you set and to
what views you are referring. You're the only one who could make sense out
of your post, I'm afraid. Setting the default options in Outlook only
applies to new Contacts, not existing ones.
