I have 20 separate distribution lists that i want to consolidate into 1. I
don't have the emails in contacts so i cannot create a new one from those
contacts. Any suggestions? I also do not want to have distribution lists
within another. I want the new list to only have contacts.
Thanks

Create a new DL and include each of the other DLs as members.  You can nest
DLs.

Brian - Thanks for the response, but i do not wnat the DL to be members
because i constantly am cleaning the list and do not want to have to dig into
each of them to figure it out.

Any other suggestions?

The open each DL, click File>Save As, save them as text, and use a tool like
Notepad to compine them into one and edit them as you wish.  Then open a new
DL, click Select Members, then go to your open Notepad with the edited list,
right-click, pick Select All, right-cfick>Copy, go back to the Members
field, select it and right-click>Paste.  Then click OK to enter the members
into the new DL.  Save and Close.
