After using the Filter in Customizing View, all my contacts disappeared.  
If I click on Business Contacts, everything appears, but when clicking on
Contacts a blank screen appears saying there is nothing there.

you have created a filtered view that hides all of your Contacts.  Go back
and uncheck the settings you selected to filter on.
