OK. Now, after creating a brand new profile for my Outlook XP and getting it
configured, when I go to send an email and click on the "To...", I get a
Select Names window that is blank and at the top, it says "Show Names from
the:" Contacts (in the drop down window). If I click on the drop down arrow,
I have 2 "Contacts" under Outlook Address Book. If I click on the other
"Contacts", all of my Contacts display correctly and it works fine.

How do I get rid of the bogus "Contacts"? It seems like Outlook is somehow
using my old and new .pst files at the same time, or something like that.
How do I get to one .pst file that has everything that works?

Thanks,
Glenn

Hi Glen,

2 ways:

a.) you could change the contact folder that you get as the first order in
Outlook under "Tools/Addressbook/Tools/Options" => "Show this contact folder
first". Here you change change the default folder.

b.) Delete the Outlook Addressbook and add it after a restart of Outlook
again.

The titel of the website is different to your problem, but the solution is
the same. ;-)

If you created a new profile, what you describe is possible only if you have
two Contacts folders and they're both enabled as address books.

Get rid of unwanted Contacts folders with Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or
change existing directories or address books>Next.  Select Outlook Address
Book, click Change.  Remove the bogus entries.  Click Close, then Finish.
Stop and restart Outlook.
