I seem to have lost a good part of my contacts in the contacts tab of
outlook. When typing in an email for the lost contact... the name pops up in
the "To" part of the email and I double click that and the whole "lost"
contact appears but it's still not listed in the contacts list even after
re-saving that open contact window. Please help. I've lost 200 of 800
contacts this way for some reason.

Which Contacts you've lost and the method you used to do so would be a
prerequisite for obtaining help in a newsgroup. So would a clear explanation
of what you might mean by "Contacts Tab" as well as your Outlook version.
Nothing happens merely "for some reason." There is a reason for everything,
and you're the only one with a clue for what that reason might be.
When you type in the To: field you are invoking the autocompletion cache
which is completely separate from your Contacts.

Well the autocompletion address that comes up when writing emails links me to
the original contact detail page with all info.... phone #'s, address etc....
but these are the contacts that I can't find when searching my normal
contacts page.
Sorry I'm don't have the perfect lingo as most of you do but I have a real
problem here. No need to be condasending.

No one is being condescending. You need to realize that we are not looking
over your shoulder. The burden is on you to provide the information we need
to troubleshoot your problems from the distance of a newsgroup. You answered
none of my questions. Do so or call PSS.
