I am using outlook 2002 & when I try to delete certain
contacts ( usually duplicates) I get an error
message "the messaging interface has returned an unkown
error" & I cannot delete the contact.  I have tried
shutting down & restarting to no avail.  Any suggestions?

Thanks but this does not work.  Maybe thefollowing
additional information will help:
1. Operating system = XP
2. I also use Microsoft active sync 3.5 to synchronixe
with a PDA

Is this a .PST file we're talking about (as opposed to an Exchange mailbox)?
If so, how big is the file?

If the .PST is at or near the 2GB limit, that's the likely cause of the
problem.  Post back when you find out the file size.

Did yopu ever get an answer and resolution to your problem?  I have been experiencing the same bug.  The only thing that I can think of is that I loaded the contact information from my PDA - forcing the PDA unto the PC.
