I have Office 2003 installed on an XP SP2 box and it worked fine.  That is
until one day when pressed the CONTACTS button on the navigation pane and
nothing happened at all.  If I had been looking at my inbox, the inbox still
showed.  But if I click on calendar then the calendar would display just
fine, and if I then clicked on mail then the inbox showed just fine.  But no
matter when I click on contacts, nothing happens.  The only way I can get to
my contacts is by right-clicking and selecting "open in new window."  Any
suggestions?

Does it work if you use the Folder List view in the Navigation Pane - can you
open your Contacts folder from there?  If so, I suspect the Nav Pane has been
corrupted.  Try starting Outlook once with the /resetnavpane switch.  If you
need help using Outlook command line switches, look here:

The article was written for Outlook 2007 but this switch works in 2003 as
well.
